3 January 1945 Mission #222 Target: Landau

The marshalling yards were slated as the target on this mission and (19) aircrews were given briefings at 0415 and 0530 hours. At 0805 hours, all were launched with (15) going over the primary to bomb by GH through 10/10ths clouds. Good results were achieved. Two other Group ships bombed with other units: (1) with the 453rd and the other with the 458th Group. There were no fighters encountered and flak was very light and inaccurate. One bomber returned with some battle damage with all landing safely at Wendling around 1455 hours, having released a total of (363) 250 and 500# bombs on target.
