5 March 1945 Mission #252 Target: Harburg

The oil refining facilities south of Hannover were scheduled for strike on this date with the Group putting up (11) crews to fly with another 14th CBW Group. Briefings were conducted at 0345 through 0430 and at 0655 hours, the force began take-off. A total of (116) 500 pounders were released with target weather necessitating an H2X radar bomb run. Again bombing results were not observed. No enemy fighters were sighted and flak was moderate but inaccurate. One ship came home with battle damage as the bombers landed about 1225 hours.
