6 April 1945 Mission #275 Target: Halle

The transportation facilities near this town were assigned to the 392nd for this mission with (10) crews being briefed at 0430 hours. At 0545 hours, the Group aircraft launched with all going over the target located on the Saale River, south of Magdeburg. Bombing was accomplished by H2X means, all (188) 250# GPs impacting in the target area, unobserved due to undercast conditions. Enemy aircraft, now rarely ever seen in the air due to the effective friendly fighter sweeps catching those that might be capable of take-off on the ground, were once again non-existent. Flak was also meager but accurate enough to inflict battle damage on (1) returning B-24. The Group ships returned safely to base, landing around 1345 hours.
