30 November 1944 Mission #206 Target: Neunkirchen

The marshalling yards were targeted for this mission and briefings for (19) crews were held at 0415 and 0530 hours. Take-offs were delayed hoping for the target area weather to go clear enough for visual bombing. Finally, at 0930 all (19) bombers were dispatched. All went over target dropping (836) mixed loads of 100 and 500# bombs by GH methods. Results could not be observed due to clouds. There were no fighters seen or flak encountered. Friendly fighter support was rated as poor to fair. One ship, #337 from the 578th, with Lieutenant R. H. Taysí crew was forced to land near Brussels for fuel. The crew refueled and returned later the same day. All other planes were back safely about 1640 hours.
