The key railroad viaduct northeast of the town was again targeted for strike. Additionally, the marshalling yards in the town were scheduled as a secondary target with a further tertiary target on the rail yards at Paderborn. At 0345 and 0500 hours, (20) aircrews were briefed and at 0800 hours (19) began take-offs on schedule. The lead squadron was unable to make a visual run on the primary due to low clouds, electing to make an H2X attack against the tertiary with results unobserved However, the low squadron coming in behind managed to salvage a visual run on the viaduct bombing it with outstanding results. The Group released a total of (130) 1000# blockbusters with those of the low squadron impacting in a pin-point pattern - (90) percent of the bombs being within 1000 feet of this hard-to-hit MPI. Once again no flak or fighters were encountered. All ships landed safely back at Wendling around 1415 hours.
